  I remember, as a nine year old, holding on for dear life to the bell rope as the bell in this church along with churches all over the country tolled the end of World War II. Each pull on the rope would carry my 40 or so pounds high into the air, back close to the ground, then up again and again. I had spent the summer at Fraternity Farm which my uncle, a Unitarian minister ran just out of town.Ashby, wonderful little New England town Erik Brown
